Alma 56

Alma 56

I love the story of the stripling warriors. We are all familiar with it and have read it many times. My favorite verse is 47. Not only did they listen to their mothers and believe, but that faith brought courage, peace, selflessness and perspective. It is true that all things are possible through faith.

What did you get out of this chapter?

TOMORROW: Alma 57

  1. Vs 47-48 are two of my very, very most favorite verses in the Book of Mormon. When my boys were much younger, they had t-shirts which said... Helaman's Warriors- Momma's Boys. I loved those shirts.

While it was the courage and faith of the "boys" which is the focus of these verses. It is the background which has always been on my heart.

Those boys would not be who they were without their mom's faith and teaching. Without their mother's to show them the way, to be faithful, to be vocal, to be THERE.... it would not have been the same.

I know that I have not met the mark in many ways, even though I really tried. It was, and still is, my goal to be the mother worthy of such a tribute.
