Chapter 20

The Lord reveals his purposes to Israel—Israel has been chosen in the furnace of affliction and is to go forth from Babylon—Compare Isaiah 48. About 588–570 B.C.

------------------------------------------

Had a hard time focusing today.  I think I am distracted by life.  But- finally the I read something that hit me- the last verse: The wicked have no peace.

That's something I've known- but to hear the Lord say it it seemed to sink in a little deeper.

What did you think/learn today?

  1. I think that Isaiah is really confusing. =) I learned, again, that the Lord is in charge, He was, is and always will be. Even though we may think we have control of the reins, we don't. The people of Isreal thought they were in control, and I guess they were, but headed the wrong way. And still, the Lord will take the time to let them wander along, get into bigger trouble before redirecting onto a better path.

That's the way it works in my life. I think I am going the right way, but not. So the Lord knocks me upside the head.... or rather..... let's something knock me upside the head to redirect me back on the path. My hope is that I have been knocked around enough that I have learned my lesson and won't have to be put back in the firery furnace. I'd prefer the peace of the righteous.
