Helaman 6
Helaman 6
This is where the tide turns. The Lamanites become a more powerful people, and the Nephites begin to sin. It is interesting to note in verses 34-36 the effects of sin. The Nephites stopped believing, and the started making poor choices- sinning. We read the consequence of their choices was the withdrawal of the Spirit of the Lord. But, the Lamanites were willing to believe in Him, so His spirit was poured out among them.

Several times the verses mention the heart. Heardening of the heart. Touching the heart. Having something on your heart. Our hearts are the independent muscle, different from any other muscle in the body, which keeps beating day in and day out.
ReplyDeleteSome people would dismiss the physiology of my opinion.......but I believe we can feel things in our hearts. Has your heart physically ached over something? Beat faster when excited? Just like exercise or learning new skill, I believe we develop a type of muscle memory in reaction to things - in our hearts.
To harden your heart or soften it is up to each of us. To have our heart touched by the spirit. To allow the Lord to work in our heart.
I just think about the emotion of it all. To have a hardened heart is to consistently push unhappy blood through our entire system every minute of every day.
To have a servant's heart, a humble heart, a teachable heart.... to me that is much better blood I want circulating through my system.
