Helaman 12
Short but sweet today:
I love verse two. The message here is easiness equals forgetfulness. Sometimes we begrudge our trials and afflictions but often they are the very thing that keep us in touch with God, and ourselves.

So my thoughts for the day..... jumbled as they are.... People who are sinful and miserable in this life and end up having an eternity of the same.... maybe that is just where they are comfortable. I think that is why there are multiple levels in heaven... not everyone desires to be a saint.
ReplyDeleteThere have been "those" times in my life when I look at someone and think... yikes, if I have to be like "that" to be in the celestial kingdom, I'd rather be with the bar crowd.
I realize that is judging. I am working on that.
I think my meaning is.... We have to BE someone in this life, who to the best of our ability, qualifies for the good life after we leave here. We have to BE a person who tries to live celestially now. Not perfect. But trying. I'd rather be good than chastised. I'd rather live with a servants heart than to be humbled. I'd rather work on having a thankful heart than being tested and tried.
Not that trials and such are not going to happen. They are. But I'd rather be the one working on myself than the Lord looking at me saying... hmmm... how can we humble her today.
I realize I have to work harder every day to earn the right to be with the Lord. It's keeping an eternal perspective for me.
