Mosiah 21
Mosiah 21
Wow. They had to go to war three times before they humbled themselves! That makes me feel like a quick learner. :)
What a full chapter. A lot happened, but I'm only going comment on a few things:
They prospered by degrees: I think the road to heaven and the road to the other place is paved by small degrees. Sometimes we take big leaps in either direction, but most times it's the little things that either build us up or break us down.
I also find it interesting whenever I see the Priesthood in action in the old days. Or in this case, not in action. They wanted to be baptized, but knew it needed to be done by one who held the authority- the priesthood. So, they waited until they could do it right. Very cool.

I felt very sad for the widows in this chapter..."great mourning and lamentation....crying mightily from day to day.." How awful that must have been for them.
ReplyDeleteThe verse I liked the best was verse 15 - "And the Lord was slow to hear their cry because of their iniquities, NEVERTHELESS the Lord did hear their cries, and began to soften the hearts of the Lamanites that they began to ease their burdens..."
What great love and mercy the Lord has for us his children, that he will answer our prayers, even when we aren't doing what we should all the time. He really is a loving Father.
