Mosiah 15

Mosiah 15

Abinidi does an amazing job at explaining the role of our Savior as the great Intercessor.  Because of the Atonement, He gained power to make intercession for the children of men...standing betwixt us and justice.

He payed the price we couldn't for ourselves. He faces the Father, satisfying the demands of justice.  He faces us, extending the hands of mercy.

He redeemed us.

Were it not for this redemption He made for us, all mankind would have perished.  We truly owe all we have to Him.

In verse 19 Abinindi teaches how this was the plan, and the Jesus was foreordained to be our Savior, from the pre-existence.  What am amazing person the Savior was- to have a keen understanding of what would happen, and still volunteering for and fulfilling his mission.

It makes me want to do what verse 30 states: Break forth into joy, sing together...

What did you think/learn today?

Just a quick thank you to the few who write here- I love love love your insights.  Also a thank you goes out to the many who read along every day, even if you don't comment.  So glad we are doing this together! (although, if you want to leave a short comment just so I know you are here, I would LOVE it!- No pressure, though. Lol)

  1. This chapter was quite applicable to my week, as I went to the funeral yesterday of my Nana's Sister. Going to funerals always snaps me back into thinking of the eternal nature of things and of what's important. She was a lovely lady, I grew up going to church with her, so its nice to know, as this chapter points out, that thanks to Christ's sacrifice, her bands of death were broken and that she will be coming forth in the first resurrection. I hope that I can stay faithful to the end, as she did, and join her in that first resurrection.

There are so many people that we should be thankful for in this life. So many that have helped us to grow in the gospel. Christ for his great sacrifice for us, Joseph Smith for restoring the gospel, all the prophets, those who wrote the wonderful scriptures for us to read, missionaires sacrificing their time to save souls, our families for staying strong in the gospel and teaching us, and even those who give lessons in church every sunday so we can endure to the end. If we don't keep our testimonies strong and fall away from the church, or if we don't teach our children, it could affect many generations afterwards. Many years ago my great great grandparents were converted by missionaries, and hundreds of us have been saved in the gospel because of it. I am so thankful for them.
