Mosiah 16
Mosiah 16
I wish I could have been there as Abinidi testified before King Noah and his henchmen. He glowed with the Spirit, and spoke with such boldness that they dared not tough him until he was finished. The truths he laid out and the way that he taught them must have been amazing. He is definitely one that is on my wish list to meet!
I love the way Abinidi teaches about the Savior. It's been great to read it the past few days. He clarifies here about our redemption from misery through Him. Not only redemption from spiritual death, but also physical death.
Something interesting to note that though the Atonement was extended to all, it will only take effort in those that follow Him. And even with that knowledge, the Savior still went through with it. Even though He knew that were some- maybe many- that would not accept Him and His sacrifice, He still did it. He loved everyone of us. He wanted to give each of us the chance of redemption.
What a perfectly kind and loving Savior.
This was so important, that after all Abinidi had taught- he said in verse 15: Teach them that redemption cometh through Christ the Lord...

My favourite verse in this chapter is verse 9 - "He is the light and the life of the word, yea a light that is endless that can never be darkened, yea and also a life which is endless, that there can be no more death."
ReplyDeleteI love the song The Lord is my light in the hymn book. Such beautiful words.
A light in darkness gives peace, security, courage, warmth, guidance, hope, radiance, support. Christ is all of these things for us too, if we seek him. And unlike other people in our lives, he will always be there for us.
