2 Nephi 13

Chapter 13

Judah and Jerusalem will be punished for their disobedience—The Lord pleads for and judges his people—The daughters of Zion are cursed and tormented for their worldliness—Compare Isaiah 3. About 559–545 B.C.

I have got a raging head cold which makes it hard to think- but I did manage to grab one nugget of goodness in this chapter.  Verse 13- "The Lord standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people."

I think we tend to think of the Savior as our judge- because He will be.  But, He is our Advocate with the Father.  That means He pleads for us on our behalf to Him.

I think about that when I sin and need repentence.  I imagine the Savior standing before my Father in Heaven, telling Him that I have done what He has asked me to do, and pleading for the demands of justice to be met.

The Atonement isn't just a thing that happened two thousand years ago.  To me, it happens every day.

What did you think/learn today?

  1. The description of the women and all their snotty attitudes and overdone finery has always struck me as something to be careful of. Scarey to me, is seeing those same types of females walking around today!

Yes, it is important to feel good about yourself, to dress nicely and be presentable.... however.... it is easy to become so worried about how we look, what we wear, how much we have in comparison to the next girl that we forget to focus on the things that are really important.

I have no idea if this was the slant even meant by those descriptions, but it is the way I have always taken it and I really don't want to become stinky and bald.
