2 Nephi 19

Chapter 19

Isaiah speaks messianically—The people in darkness will see a great light—Unto us a child is born—He will be the Prince of Peace and will reign on David’s throne—Compare Isaiah 9. About 559–545 B.C.

---------------------------------

After all the poor choices we make, the rejection He receives and everything terrible in between- "His hand is stretched out still."

How patient the Lord is with us! How much love He has for us!

I read this and I feel gratitude and love for Him.  And yet, I feel that I've been ungrateful, busy and small.  I can see His hand stretched out to me, reminding me He is there, beckoning me to stay near Him.  And I feel close to Him.

It was a sweet chapter to read today.

What did you think/learn today?

  1. I know I cannot comprehend the fulness of the Savior's love for me. Most days I move through life accepting it rationally , but not necessarily feeling it all the time. While reading this chapter, I stopped and pondered the image of the Savior still holding his hand out to us, to the sinners and the wicked. How quick I can be to pull back my hand from those that I love because of hurt or rejection or even because they are living a lifestyle I do not agree with. I can still be kind, polite, etc.... but do I really engage? Not always. It's something I know I need to work on if I chose to follow the Savior's example.

I'll get back into the comments when things are a little easier for me to understand. But for now, thank you for sharing this study experience with me and have a wonderful day on sunday everybody.
