You've heard the saying "Knowledge is power."  The end of this chapter testifies to the deep truth of that saying.

In that day (the Millennium)all things shall be made known. Knowledge will freely be available. It is this knowledge that will give the animals the ability to live peacefully with people. It is this knowledge that will bind Satan.

Joseph Smith once said that a man is saved no faster than he has knowledge.

Knowledge has the power to open our eyes, change our perspective, change our character, change our behavior, bind Satan, and lead us to salvation.

For me, that makes me so want more knowledge!

Not in a greedy way . . . but in a thirsty way.

I thirst for it. I want to know.  I feel like the woman at the well who says, give me, that I may drink of this water.

I think that's one of the reasons why I love my scripture study. So much knowledge in there, and even more that the Spirit gives me as I study and pray.

We are taught that faith is the first principle of the gospel, and that it's important.  And that is true.  But, faith leads to knowledge--and it is that knowledge that unlocks even greater power.

Just as baptism is the key to the kingdom, but it's the gift of the Holy Ghost that sanctifies and qualifies us (you need both to be saved), the same, it seems, is with faith and knowledge in the spiritual sense.

And to thing that knowledge will flood the earth!  What an exciting prospect! What a glorious time that will be!

Until then, however, in my own little life here, I will do my best to quench my unquenchable thirst for the knowledge of the things of God every day by study, prayer, pondering, reading modern-day revelation as well as old, watching conference talks and firesides, attending church and the temple, and then sharing my faith and knowledge with those around me.

I am grateful Heavenly Father has given me ways here and now to drink of His truths, and feel just a small portion of the strength and perspective that His knowledge brings me.

  1. Three thoughts have come to me while reading this chapter;
    - I want to be delightsome. I better practice this more. to be more child like, enjoy & delight in Gods beautiful creations. this is easier now that It's almost spring & that I have grandchildren.
    - I yearn for the day when Satan loses how's power & we have the veil lifted. Oh, what a happy day.
    - I too am a seeker. But would like to add that all things are spiritual to God. I try to keep my setting in priorities with Him; spiritual cost, but always reading, learning, trying, doing, questioning boldly, as the spirit directs my interests, talents & time.

  2. I look forward to the day when all that is secret will be revealed. Good or bad. We will not have to wonder, because we will know. I don't know if I will still be on the earth when Satan is bound, but lately, I have been wishing for that day to get here sooner rather than later! I am very grateful for the ability to learn. I know knowledge is power, but it is also peace and the opportunity to serve in a deeper capacity.
