Great chapter! I love anything that prophesies of the last days--especially when it focuses on the positives.
Joseph Smith once said that a man is saved no faster than he has knowledge. How exciting will it be with the knowledge of God will cover the earth?!?
In D&C 121:32-34, the Lord Himself speaks of that: Yea, verily I say unto you, in that day when the Lord shall come, he shall reveal all things--Things which have passed, and hidden thins which no man knew, things of the earth, by which it was made, and the purpose of the end thereof--Things most precious, things that are above, and things that are beneath, things that are in the earth, and upon the earth, and in heaven.
He continues to extend a beautiful promise to the righteous: And all they who suffer persecution for my name, and endure in faith, though they are called to lay down their lives for my sake yet shall they partake of all this glory. Wherefore, fear not even unto death: for in this world your joy is not full, but in me your joy is full.
When this knowledge will flood the earth during the Millenium, the righteous that have passed on will be able to return (resurrected) and bask in it, along with those that still have mortal bodies. What an exciting thing to look forward too! And what a beautiful message: Do not fear death, for in me, you shall have joy.
But, before this can happen, the House of Israel must be gathered. It has already begun, as Kristine mentioned in her comment on Friday, with the influx of missionaries, the ease of access to family history, etc. We truly live in exciting times!
Yes, there is greater wickedness than ever before. But, in that darkness, our light shines even brighter. We are a beacon for the lost, an ensign for the nations. We stand apart, and are persecuted and judged for it by those around us, but as the Lord said, fear not that- but look to Him.
It's a motivating, comforting and exciting chapter for me this morning!

This will be the epitome of life-long learning, I can wait....but what I look forward to the most is the "peace". oh, the joy that will bring to me!
ReplyDeleteLately my attitude has been... "Bring it on." I may not be completely ready for the world and natural events preceeding the Second Coming of Christ, but at least I know my face is looking in the right direction. I am grateful for the signs we get to see each day that tell us Christ is just around the corner! It's an exciting, building, learning time...
