2 Nephi 22

This chapter is what men all men will praise in the millennial day--but I don't want to wait until then.  This is how I feel now.

When Isaiah chooses to write plainly, it sings to my heard. I echo his phrases:

"O Lord, I will praise the..."

"I will trust, and not be afraid, for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he has also become my salvation..."

I love this phrase:  "Therefore, with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation." This makes me think of the woman the well, and, for personal reasons, bears a sweet significance to me.

I also love how it states the  Lord has done excellent things.  That is, perhaps, the most beautiful understatement in the scriptures.

I, too, want to cry and shout my feelings about the Lord. I think that's one of the reasons I love to teach so much. It it exhilarating, to be able to teach and to testify. Whether it's one on one with my kids, visiting teaching, Sunday School, Relief Society, Sacrament Meeting, Seminary, Stake Conferences (or blogging or writing) or even bigger venues--it doesn't matter. To me, I love any chance I have to teach and testify. I hope the Lord blesses me with as many chances as possible to do that for rest of my life :)

  1. This is a joyous chapter. It reminded me that I need to say more prayers with nothing but thank-you, instead of asking for help. Although I certainly need the help. It is good to go through the day and send up thank-you's for all the little things because the Lord pours out blessings on us constantly, we just have to stop and recognize them.

  2. I agree with Angie & you, Michelle, this is one of the "JOY" chapters and a great reminder to show gratitude to our Father.
God is so kind as to give us these sweet morsels of joy!

I love that it say to "Sing unto the Lord". I have many hymns and primary songs that bring peace and joy to my heart. I believe in Christ, There is sunshine in my soul today. When I had a houseful of children I would sing a song for almost every situation; ie: laziness - Put your shoulder to the wheel, fighting - As I have loved you, etc. I need to do this more for myself! I love God's and good music and know how powerful medium it is.
