I really enjoyed this chapter. It was a great reminder for me to not put so much stock into what others think of me, bad or good. It's my relationship with the Lord that counts.
Earthly things will fade, be His things last forever. He is the one that comforteth me. What a sweet sentiment. Heaven knows there are times when I truly need comforting!
It motivates me to Awake stand up. To arouse my senses to the things of eternity, to refocus my priorities, to keep my eternal perspective in check. Not easy to do all the time.

WOW...God is speaking to me directly in this chapter. He tells me to "Awake, awake" 3 xs and look to the eternal JOY, shake off the temporal, the trials of this life and the heartache. HE wants me to have singing in my heart.
ReplyDeleteMy DH has found a few hymns that have strengthened his resolve and brought him great joy, that he is daily and consciously using. I'm going to share this chapter with him.
Also my grandchildren will love to hear that through God's strength, we can slay dragons. They are excited when I share such scriptures.
Whenever I see the phrase, "daughter of zion" or the like, I peak my "listening", for a personal message to me. God knows my challenges and through my faith and resolve to that which is eternal my dragons will be slain and I can know JOY daily.
I am grateful for the reminder that God knows me and loves me. He is there to comfort me and only wants me to turn to him and remember who I am and where I came from. Through Him, we can rejoice and have glad hearts, even in the midst of this completely bonkers world we live in.
