The next few chapters are really cool because they contain much of the Plan of Salvation in them--the same doctrines that I teach each week over 2000 years later in my Sunday School class.
I love the faith of Alma. He didn't know everything, but He knew that God did and he trusted him. (verse 5)
In verses 3 and 9 Alma also brings up a very important principle: There are some answers that require a great effort to find. God will not simply unfold all of His mysteries to the casual inquirer. We must earn His trust and those answers through obedience, sacrifice, prayer, fasting, and faith.
